Neutral placeholder landscape of Kenyan highland riding country

Under Safari Saddle

Kenya, ridden seriously.

A curated destination layer for experienced riders — private villas, conservancy lodges, ranch country and fly-camp lines, each planned around assessment, horse welfare and the conditions of the day.

The Riding Collection

These are the Kenyan properties we return to when riding is the reason for the journey. The emphasis is advanced: forward ground, long mornings and guides who assess before anything is set. Where a property's own operation confirms tailored options for suitable novice or intermediate guests, we note it on the card — nowhere else.

Verify on confirmation Everything here is indicative. Riding routes, horses, facilities, guides, aircraft and access are confirmed in writing with each independent property or operator before a journey is committed. We claim no partnership, ownership or live availability, and we cannot guarantee wildlife encounters.

Placeholder media is shown until a property gives written marketing permission for its own photography.

Flagship journey

The Kenya Equestrian Grand Tour

A Mara private-villa arrival that sets the pace, the substantial Laikipia riding and camp chapter, a conservation and horseback chapter at Lewa, then a Samburu finale mixing equestrian days, camel work, wildlife and cultural time — with helicopter coordination where operationally feasible.

Wild Hill, Maasai Mara → Borana Lodge, Laikipia → Lewa Wilderness → Ol Malo, Samburu.

10–12 nights, private, adaptable

  1. 1–3

    Maasai Mara — Wild Hill

Arrival into an exclusive-use villa. Assessment rides, wellness hours and drives set the pace of the journey before the longer riding chapters begin.

  2. 4–6

Laikipia — Borana and Riding Wild

The core riding chapter: highland country, guide-led riding in wildlife areas and a fly-camp night where conditions and permissions allow.

  3. 7–8

    Lewa Wilderness

A conservation and horseback chapter on Lewa, with the option to continue by fly-camp. Non-riders take conservation experiences and walking.

  4. 9

    Charter north

A coordinated private flight into Samburu country, arranged on request and subject to operational confirmation.

  5. 10–12

    Samburu — Ol Malo

The finale: riding, camel days, wildlife and cultural time with Samburu families, with helicopter coordination where operationally feasible, then recovery before the flight home.
